Melanie came to WAG yesterday as a transfer from our friends at the local government shelter. She has been spayed and is vaccinated and ready to go. Melanie is wide open and very social. She is a Blue Tick Hound and loves to run and would be a great Cani-cross partner or 5k partner. Melanie has a mild heart murmur and can’t do long runs, but needs short runs to keep her energy levels in check. Hounds are known to do well in townhomes and even apartments if they are given opportunities throughout the day to burn that urge to run.
Since we often work with the rescues from Kuwait, we are quite familiar with the rising numbers of dumped pets around the Middle Eastern holidays such as Ramadan. Well, the same thing happens in the USA. With Thanksgiving and Christmas approaching, the shelters have filled up. Rescue is a small community and our friends at the government shelters reach out to all venues in attempts to prevent euthanasia. WAG believes in saving lives. Even those close to home.
Melanie is scared of gunshots and will not be adopted to anyone looking for a hunting companion. Her adoption fee is $350. Please message us if you’d like to adopt Melanie!
