COURTESTY POST: PEPPER AT SOUTHERN HOSPETALITY, LLC.

PEPPER is URGENTLY SEEKING A NEW HOME SO SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE EUTHANIZED.

I've posted about Pepper a few times over the last several months and nothing has panned out for her. Her owners have contacted more rescues, sanctuaries and trainers than they can count and haven't had any luck either.

Pepper isn't considered urgent by most people because she isn't in a shelter but her situation is in fact urgent. Peppers family just welcomed their second child into the world and it is imperative that she finds a new home ASAP.

Peppers veterinarian has recommended that she be euthanized instead of being sent to a shelter and her owners agree that the anxiety she would experience in a traditional shelter setting would not only hinder her chances at adoption but would also be incredibly unfair to subject her to. It would be more of a kindness for her to be euthanized surrounded by the people she knows and loves.

For those who will ask: The foster based rescue she was adopted from as a puppy is aware of the situation and because Pepper needs to be the only pet, they are unable to take her back.

Pepper is a sweet, loyal dog who would make a wonderful companion to a person or couple with out other pets or children. If you or someone you know can offer a home to Pepper please read below to learn more about her and get in touch with me via PM so I can connect you with her family.

Please no negative and judgemental comments about her families decision. They haven't come to it easily and comments like these do not help Pepper find a home. This is not a training issue. This is a management issue and Pepper simply can't enjoy a good quality of life having to be separated from her family's human children at all times.

Pepper was adopted from a rescue group in NY as a puppy and has enjoyed 6 wonderful years with her human parents. Unfortunately one thing her family was not able to anticipate when they adopted Pepper is that she would one day be very unhappy to share her home with human children. Even though Pepper has overcome a lot of the anxiety she experienced when her owner's son first came home (by learning that she gets lots of praise and treats when her human baby brother is around) - she still just doesn't seem to like him. Her owners have witnessed her several times initiating aggressive behavior with their son when she thinks no one is watching. Though they are always separated by a baby gate when not directly supervised . . . Pepper is walking up to the gate and growling and snapping at her human baby brother on the other side when she thinks no one is paying attention. This behavior has become more frequent as the baby has become a toddler and because she doesn't behave this way when she knows she is being watched, it is a difficult obstacle to overcome. This is truly a safety issue and with a second child on the way, Pepper's owners have come to the heartbreaking realization that Pepper needs to find another home with out children.

Pepper is 6 years old, spayed and up to date on all her routine vet care. She weighs about 55 lbs and is a true all American mixed breed! Pepper is house broken and non destructive (she can be left in the house un crated and un supervised). Pepper is an energetic and playful girl who loves to play with toys or run laps around the yard but she is also happy to cuddle on the couch. Pepper is not a fan of other animals though so a fenced in yard is a must. Pepper is move in ready and will be a fantastic companion to a person or couple with no other pets or children. Could that be you?? Please tell everyone you know about this sweet girl and please SHARE even if you can't adopt.

Pepper currently lives in Charlottesville, Va. If you are interested in adopting - please send me a private message and I can connect you with her family. Let's get this girl a home!!
