Ready for Adoption: Buttercup!

BUTTERCUP is coming to Seattle! We need to find the ultimate perfect FOSTER/ADOPTER! Someone with a one level home or a comfortable bottom level with open space to maneuver. Ideally, someone who works from home or who will only leave her alone for a couple hours a day initially. She loves children! I would like for her to be an only pet or at least separated from the other household pets initially in order to do a proper introduction. :)

She is a Saluki mix and approximately 30 lbs. Buttercup is an adorable baby who was found in sheep farm area located in the middle of no where of Kuwait. She was shot in the spine & lost her ability to use her hind legs.

The sheep farmers reported her because as they said she was always very sweet & loving. She never harmed anyone. They do know who shot her but they can't do anything about it since he's local & they're foreigners. This is a constant struggle for our organization and we simply do all we can to ensure the rest of their lives are happy and filled with all the love they deserve.

She was very easy to rescue in spite of her injury.

She was still asking for cuddles & was scared when approached.

She was treated & started teaching her how to use the wheelchair almost as soon as she started feeling better. It was very easy. She's a fast learner.

Buttercup does not need bladder squeezed; she can do her business and let you know when she needs to.

When in a new place & around new people she is shy & distant. Tasty treats such as plain chicken breast are the way to her heart.

That coupled with a few pets on the head and some minutes of reassurance will win her over.

Same with dogs. She needs proper introduction. She's not an alpha female but she's going to try to tell them just because she's paralyzed she's not a weak dog. A few days she will be playing with them & all is history.

She loves kids a little too much. But again always proper introducing is best with new dogs specially those going to a new place with new smells & an overwhelming experience.

She does not have food aggression but I would still feed her apart from other dogs or kids incase the new experience cause any reason for her to trigger her in a way or another. We say this for ALL rescues as we don't know all the fears they have and best to be safe as you learn all about her.

Buttercup is fully vetted. She is very loved by all the vets who dealt with her. She's spayed & microchipped & up to date with her vaccination & deworming.

They do not have rabies in Kuwait but we vaccinate regardless. Due to Kuwait not having heartworm, she will need to have preventative heart guard upon arrival in the US but only after her initial exam.

She had a couple of teeth pulled out when she had gum infection.

She sometimes has sour spots on her legs from dragging around. Need to be bandaged when not on her wheelchair. With our paralyzed pups, we will often outfit them in socks so they can romp and play outside without the need for their wheelchairs. :) They love this freedom.

Here are few pictures & videos of the little darling. She is leaving Kuwait tonight and us here at World Animal Guardians could not be more excited and grateful to be a part of her journey to finding the perfect home.
