ANNOUNCEMENT: HOLIDAY WISHES!
Each one of these plates represents an adoptable dog in our kennel who is not having Thanksgiving in a warm home. Each plate could have been served to each dog by a family who loves them.
While this is sad, I want to point out that these are the lucky ones. For many of these dogs, this is the best they’ve ever had. A good meal. But YOU can give them more. You can give them a home, or at least share their posts to help them find the right home.
It is my prayer that by Christmas, there won’t be a single plate for a dog in the kennel, because all of them will have real homes and will be eating their good food with a family.
Babies Freya, Gemini, and Sirius were miracles who would have died inside the womb of their mother, Diana, in Kuwait, had an angel not paid to send them to us in the USA only 2 days before labor. After emergency surgery, 6 healthy babies were born.
Shaila gave birth in Kuwait to a gorgeous little of pups, 4 of whom now have homes in the USA. Finally we were blessed with an angel who paid to send Shaila here, too, but who will adopt an Anatolian mix and make her a pet?
Sam was found locally in VA, totally trained and had lived in a home - but then tossed out on a main highway to fend for himself.
Duke is a perfectly gorgeous Lab, likely purchased from a breeder, found locally as an unwanted stray. Apparently the intrigue of having a puppy wore off.
Melanie and Daphne are the sweetest and funniest Bluetick hounds who were dumped after refusing to hunt. Good. Most of the hunting hounds locally live terrible lives anyway. Now they stand a chance at happiness.
McGregor was found in Kuwait, dragging his paralyzed body through the scorching desert sands. He has overcome infection, burns, a bullet in his spine, and soon he will try to learn to walk again.
Battie is the most crazy Schipperke mix ever. Abused and neglected, she was rescued from a dog hoarder with 60 other dogs. Her brother was adopted through animal control locally, only to be thrown from the window of a moving car weeks later. Battie, while crazy, is finally happy.
Every one of these dogs deserves the best that humans can give them. After all, it was humans who failed them. Adopt. At least share a post. Their Thanksgiving was lonely but let’s give them a better Christmas!
